The "Run Billing Cycle" button on the Invoices list page generates Cycle Invoices for every customer whose billing cycle just closed. Use it when you have multiple customers ready to bill at once — usually at month close or after a fixed-day cycle window ends.
Before the actual run, you'll see a Preview that lists every customer whose cycle is ready, their period window, the estimated total, and a status (Ready, Already billed, No rate set, No work). Review the preview, deselect any customers you don't want to bill yet, and confirm. Drafts are generated for everyone selected — none are sent automatically.
Duplicate prevention runs at the customer + period level. If a customer already has a Cycle Invoice for the same service period, they're skipped automatically. You can run the batch as many times as you want without creating duplicates. Customers on Manual billing cycle are excluded from batch rollup entirely — they don't have an automated cycle, so the system doesn't try to bill them.
After the run, a summary shows: how many drafts were created, how many customers were skipped (and why), and how many had no unbilled work. Each created invoice is linked from the summary so you can jump straight to review.
The batch rollup is the time-saver for operators with 10+ customers on similar cycles. For a single customer or a one-off cycle, use the per-customer "Generate Cycle Invoice" button on their Rate Card instead — it's faster than running the batch.
Drafts can be edited before sending. The Cycle Invoice creates the structure; you're always in control of what actually goes out the door.
