A quote is a proposal — what you'd charge a prospect or an existing customer for new work. Quotes don't bill anything; they're a sales document. When the customer accepts, you convert the quote to a job with one click and the work becomes committed.
Open the wizard from a customer's profile (Create Job button, then toggle to Quote) or from the Quotes list. Step through Customer, Job Details, Location, Assignment, Products & Services, and Review. This is Track B pricing, resolved the same way as in the invoice wizard: a site's Additional Charge wins first, then customer default rate, then catalog price, with a source badge on each line. Recurring Rate Card rows don't factor into a quote's pricing.
On Review, mark the quote's expiration date, add any custom notes, and save. The quote is created as a draft. From the quote's detail page you can send it to the customer (PDF email), mark it as accepted, or convert it directly to a job.
When the customer accepts, open the quote and click Convert. The system creates a job pre-populated with the quote's customer, location, line items, and schedule. The job can be edited before saving — the customer may have agreed in principle but wants a different date, or added an extra unit. The original quote stays in history as the proposal record.
The old "Job + Quote" toggle that created both records at once has been removed. The Quote → Convert → Job flow is cleaner: one document is the proposal, the other is the commitment.
For ongoing recurring service tied to a quote, remember that indefinite rentals route their billing through the Rate Card. The job from a quote conversion handles the initial delivery; set up a Rate Card row for the site to handle recurring Cycle Invoices going forward.
