When you create a Job in the Job Wizard and toggle "Indefinite Rental" on, the wizard creates the initial delivery only. Ongoing service billing is handled by the customer's Rate Card — not by the job. This keeps the system honest: one source of truth for recurring revenue.
You'll see a handoff card inside the wizard explaining this, with a button to open the customer's Rate Card in a new tab. From there you can add or edit the service location for the site, set the unit count and rate, and the Cycle Invoice path handles all future billing.
This replaces the old "Recurring Billing Setup" UI that used to appear inside the wizard. There's no longer a parallel system — if a rental is indefinite, the Rate Card owns the billing. If a rental is finite (a one-week event, a 30-day project), the wizard handles billing on the job itself with line items and a defined duration.
The confirmation step of the wizard reflects this. For indefinite rentals, the duration reads "Indefinite — ongoing service billed via Rate Card" instead of a day count. The Order Summary sidebar shows "Delivery only · Ongoing billing via Rate Card" so it's clear what's being charged on this specific job.
If the customer doesn't have a Rate Card row for the site yet, set one up before or after creating the delivery — it doesn't matter which order. The job and the Rate Card are independent records. The Rate Card starts billing as soon as it's configured and the customer's billing cycle closes for the first time.
