The invoice wizard creates one-off manual invoices through a multi-step flow: Details (customer and line items), Review, Preview (PDF), Recipients, and Send. Use it for invoices that aren't generated by the Rate Card's Cycle Invoice path — event one-offs, special charges, manual overrides, or scenarios where you want full control over line items.
On the Details step, pick the customer, then add line items grouped by site. This is Track B pricing — the wizard resolves the unit price for each item automatically: a site's Additional Charge wins first, then the customer default rate, then catalog price. Recurring Rate Card rows aren't part of this hierarchy; they only bill on the Cycle Invoice (Track A). A source badge next to the unit price tells you which layer was used — "Site rate," "Customer rate," "Catalog rate," or "No rate set."
Both Unit Price and Total are inline-editable on every line. Click directly on either field to override. Changing Unit Price recalculates Total automatically; changing Total recalculates Unit Price. When you manually edit a price, the source badge flips to "Custom" so it's visually clear you've deviated from the resolved value. Custom prices apply to this invoice only and don't update the Rate Card or Customer Default Rates.
The Review step shows the full draft with all line items and totals. The Preview step renders the PDF the customer will see. Recipients lets you confirm the email address. Send dispatches the invoice and updates its status.
If this invoice should have been a Cycle Invoice (recurring billing for a customer on a billing cycle), close the wizard and use the customer's Rate Card "Generate Cycle Invoice" button instead. The two paths produce different invoices: the wizard is manual line-by-line, the Cycle Invoice is rate-card aggregation. Don't mix the two for the same billing period or you'll create duplicates.
