For a person to see the punch UI, two switches must both be on.

The Two Switches

Org-wide switch: Settings → Time Clock → "Enable the time clock." Off by default for new organizations; if you were already using time tracking before this shipped, we turned it on for you.

Per-person switch: Team Management → Users → Edit Profile → "Track time." Defaults to on for drivers and mechanics, off for salaried office staff, so an owner who doesn't punch doesn't see a clock they'll ignore.

Turning It On for Your Organization

Go to Settings → Time Clock (Organization group).

Toggle Enable the time clock on.

Choose the auto-close limit (default 16 hours; range 1 to 24 hours). A shift left open longer than this is closed automatically and flagged.

Save settings.

Then flip Track time on for anyone who should punch.

Where to Find Someone's Toggle

Team Management → click the person's row → Edit Profile → scroll to Time tracking → toggle the switch → Save.

If Someone Stops Tracking Time Mid-Shift

Their Track time switch can be turned off while they're clocked in without stranding them. They can still clock out; they just can't start a new shift once it's off.
