Phase 0 shipped the clock. Phase 1, everything covered in TM-25 through TM-32, shipped pay periods, corrections, approval, the lock, and the CSV export. Phase 2, direct push to QuickBooks Online Payroll, is on the roadmap; it has not shipped yet.
What Phase 2 Will Do
For organizations connected to QuickBooks Online (Financials → QuickBooks, already used for invoice, customer, and payment sync), an approved pay period will optionally push each person's hours directly to QuickBooks Online Payroll as a `TimeActivity`, one API call per person per day, with the QuickBooks employee mapping picked from a settings screen.
Why That's Different From the CSV
| CSV export (available today) | QuickBooks TimeActivity push (roadmap) |
|---|---|
| Works with any payroll system | QuickBooks Online Payroll only |
| You download and import it | Automatic on approval, or on demand |
| Generic line format | Uses QuickBooks' native timesheet structure |
| Zero mapping to set up | One-time employee mapping in Settings |
Until Phase 2 Ships
Use the CSV export with QuickBooks Online's own "Import timesheets from CSV" workflow. It's a supported QuickBooks path today and gets your approved hours in without manual retyping. When Phase 2 ships, you'll be able to switch to the direct push without changing anything you already approve.
A note on this article: everything on this page describes a roadmap item, not a shipped feature. If you're evaluating PortaPro today, plan around the CSV export in TM-31; treat the QuickBooks direct push as a future capability, not a current one.
