The Setup Guide is the floating checklist that appears in the bottom-right corner of every page for office users (admins and dispatchers). It tracks the setup tasks your organization still needs to finish, adding your first customer, scheduling your first job, sending your first invoice, and so on, and shows what's already done.
The Setup Guide is not a tour. Watching a walkthrough does not check a box; only real data does. Add a real customer and the box checks itself. Delete that customer later and the box stays checked, completion is sticky, so you can't accidentally undo your setup by cleaning up test data.
First Sign-In: "What Do You Need to Get Started?"
The first time an admin or dispatcher signs in, a short picker asks what your business does: portable restrooms, roll-off dumpsters, recurring routes, events, invoicing, team & drivers, fleet maintenance. Your selections tailor the checklist, a restroom-only operator never sees roll-off tasks.
You can change your answer at any time by clicking the pencil icon in the widget header.
The Widget
For each open task, hover the row to see:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Show me how | Starts a guided walkthrough of the exact clicks. Available for the most common tasks. It won't check the box; you still need to do the real thing. |
| Go there | Jumps straight to the page where the task is performed. |
| Skip this | Dismisses one task you don't intend to do (a restroom-only operator can skip roll-off setup). Skipped tasks are attributed to whoever skipped them; anyone can un-skip. |
Making It Come Back or Go Away
The Setup Guide is designed to nudge, not to nag.
Skipping and un-skipping individual tasks does not hide the widget, it just trims what the widget considers complete.
Roles

Frequently Asked Questions
I already added my customers before opening the guide. Do I get credit?
Yes. The first time the widget loads, it checks your data and auto-fills every task you've already done.
I deleted my test customer. Did my Setup Guide un-check itself?
No. Once a task is complete it stays complete. This is deliberate, the guide isn't an audit of your current state, only a record of whether you ever finished setting up.
I skipped a task by accident.
Hover the skipped row and click Un-skip. Only tasks you explicitly skipped can be un-skipped; auto-completed tasks stay complete.
My teammate hid the guide. Where is it?
Setup Guide state is org-wide, so if your dispatcher hid it (or it auto-retired at 100%), everyone in the office loses it. Turn it back on at Settings → Company → Setup Guide → Show the setup guide.
Does the walkthrough work on my phone?
Yes for the checklist itself, but guided walkthroughs are best on a laptop or desktop, some highlight targets are hidden on narrow screens.
