A roofer calls about a tear-off and asks which dumpster to send. Too small, and you're making a second trip. Here's how to get it right the first time. From Roll-Offs, start a new rental for the customer. It's booked as a delivery, and the dates set how long the container stays. On the items step, there's help for the size question. Not sure which size? Estimate the weight. Pick what's being torn out: concrete, shingles, lumber or drywall. This job is shingles. Choose the kind, and whether you measure in squares or bundles. Enter the size of the roof. Roofers count in squares, a hundred square feet each, so a twenty-four hundred foot roof is twenty-four. And how many layers are coming off. You get the weight in pounds and tons, and which containers hold it, from the sizes you actually stock, with the tons your rate already includes. The math is spelled out, so you can explain the number to the customer. Apply puts those containers on the rental, and a note with the estimate rides along on the job.
