A driver runs out of daylight, finds a locked gate, or skips a stop. Until the office hears about it, the customer thinks they were serviced and the job sits open on yesterday's date. PortaPro catches every stop that did not happen, tells dispatch once at the end of the day, and makes putting it back on the schedule a one-click job. If you choose, it moves the stop to the next business day on its own.
What counts as a missed stop
A stop is a job. Every customer stop on a route plan is a job, and recurring rate-card service is generated as jobs nightly, so there is no separate missed-stop list to maintain. A job is a missed stop when it is still open (Unassigned, Assigned, Pending, or In Progress) and any of these is true:
Cancelled, Skipped, and Completed jobs never count. Everything is measured in your company's time zone, so "today" means today at the yard. See Company Time Zone.
Needs attention: the office view
In Jobs & Dispatch, the Needs attention card lists "Stops that didn't happen: missed days and driver-flagged issues." The Missed stops section shows every missed stop with the customer, the site, the driver (or Unassigned), and a chip explaining why it is there:
Tick several rows and click Reschedule N selected, or click Reschedule on one row. See Rescheduling a Missed Stop.

The end-of-day report
Settings → Routing → Missed stops controls the report. It is off by default: a company still importing its customer list has dozens of open jobs on past dates and should not be emailed about them nightly. Turn it on when your drivers are live; the Setup Guide task "Turn on the missed-stop report" points here.
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Send an end-of-day missed-stop report | One report to admins and dispatchers listing every stop not marked complete | Off |
| Day ends at | Your local time. Stops still open at this time count as missed. Any time between 3:00 PM and 11:00 PM. | 6:00 PM |
| When a stop is missed | "Notify me - I'll reschedule", or "Move it to the next business day, then notify me" | Notify me |
PortaPro checks every 15 minutes and sends one report per company per day, shortly after your Day ends at time. The report is titled like "3 stops not completed today" and groups the stops by driver, with Unassigned last and the driver's reason next to any stop that has one. Stops still open from earlier days are counted ("2 older stops still need a date") rather than re-listed. If nothing was missed, nothing is sent.
Who receives it
Each person chooses their channels under Settings → Notifications → Overdue & Missed Stops: bell, push, email, and text. Text is the one row in that matrix with a text column. It is off until you tick it, goes to the mobile number on your own profile, and needs the company's SMS number to be live (Settings → SMS). The box is greyed with a reason when either is missing. The text carries the report's title and short body plus a link to Jobs & Dispatch.
Auto-move: the next-business-day policy
Choose "Move it to the next business day, then notify me" and PortaPro handles silent misses for you. At Day ends at, every stop that simply was not done is moved to the next weekday with the same driver. The driver gets one notification ("2 stops moved to Wed, Sep 9") and the report reads "Moved to Wed" so the office still knows.
One rule makes this safe: a stop the driver reported a reason for is never moved automatically. A locked gate or a refused delivery needs a phone call, not a retry, so those stops stay in Needs attention for a person. The setting says it plainly: "Same driver, next weekday. A stop the driver reported a reason for (locked gate, customer refused) always waits for you."
Missed stop is not overdue invoice
The orange Overdue - Rescheduled badge on a job means the job was a missed stop that was later rescheduled. An overdue invoice is money past its due date and lives in Financials. See Understanding Overdue Job Indicators.
