What this is
PortaPro handles temporary fence rentals the same way it handles restrooms and roll-offs. Your panels, gates, stands, clamps, sandbags and screen are products in Inventory, and a job or quote books them. Two things are built for fencing on top of that:
---
Set up your fencing products
Once you have fencing products, Fencing appears in the category toggle on the Inventory page and in the product picker.
Screen priced by the linear foot
On a Windscreen & Privacy Screen product, turn on Priced by the linear foot. One unit is then one foot: your stock is the feet you own, the price is per foot, and a 500 ft run books 500. Use it with Track by count (the form turns it on for you). Name the product so it reads well on an invoice, for example "Windscreen (per ft)". Leave the switch off to rent screen one piece per panel.

The Fence calculator
When you have at least one fence panel product, a Fence calculator button appears on the job wizard's products step (delivery jobs, in the Quoting by the foot? box) and next to Add products & services on a one-off quote.
- Type the feet: enter How much fence? and choose Straight run (an open line with two ends) or Enclosure (a perimeter that closes back on itself).
- Draw on the map: see the next section. The feet and the shape come from the drawing.
The lines are added as ordinary "any N" lines and priced from your rates. If a product is already on the job as an "any N" line, the calculator adds to its quantity. It never removes or shrinks a line you already have. The plan is written into the job or quote notes so the crew sees it.
Draw the fence on the map
Draw on the map opens a satellite view of the job's or quote's site, or the customer's service address when there is no site yet. Find an address searches anywhere.
The drawing is saved with the job, or with the quote, which copies it onto the delivery and pickup jobs it creates. The job shows a Fence line card with the satellite photo, the total, each side's length and Open in Maps, in the office and in the driver app, so the crew setting up and the crew taking it down see where the fence goes. Typing the feet afterwards never erases a drawn line; a new drawing replaces it.
Lengths are measured along the ground between the corners you tap. Treat them like a tape measure off a satellite photo: good for quoting and loading the truck, not a survey.
How the count works
The sandbag count is a planning guide, not a wind-load calculation. Add more in wind or on screened runs. Office staff can click Save as company default to keep their clamps per joint and sandbags per stand.

Billing fencing
- Per Day bills the rate for every day of the invoice's period: $2 a day is $56 on a 28-day invoice and $62 on a 31-day month. A row that starts mid-period bills only its own days.
- Per Year is a one-year contract billed once at the start of each contract year, due on your normal terms from the day it is sent. That holds even when the customer has rows on other periods: the yearly row bills its whole year on the cycle its contract year starts in.
