Full reference for the toggles under Settings → Cards & Birthdays.
Enable birthday notifications
Default: on.
Master switch for every birthday reminder. When off, no reminders go out regardless of the other toggles below.
Advance notice
Default: 3 days.
Sends a reminder N days before an upcoming birthday, where N is between 1 and 14. Set this based on how long your team usually needs to sign a card — 3 days is a good default; larger orgs sometimes prefer 5 or 7.
Day-of reminder
Default: on.
Sends a second reminder on the birthday itself, as a nudge to send the card if you haven't already.
Team member birthdays
Default: on.
Include birthdays captured on team-member profiles. Turn off if you only want customer-birthday reminders.
Customer contact birthdays
Default: on.
Include birthdays captured on customer contacts. Turn off if you only want team-birthday reminders.
Who receives the reminders
Every active admin and dispatcher in the org. This is the same "office staff" audience that can create cards. Individual users can silence team notifications from their own notification settings.
Timezone
Reminders use the org's timezone, configured under Settings → Company. Set it correctly so a "3 days ahead" reminder for Sarah's Monday birthday arrives during business hours on the previous Friday, not overnight Sunday.
Notes and troubleshooting
Q: I'm not getting reminders.
A: Confirm you're an admin or dispatcher, that your user-level notification preferences allow team notifications, and that quiet hours aren't in effect.
Q: A birthday is on the day but I got no advance reminder.
A: The advance-notice cron ran before the birthday was added. Add the birthday earlier next time; the day-of reminder will still fire.
Q: Notifications don't fire on Feb 29 in a non-leap year.
A: They fire on Feb 28, per the leap-day policy. This is intentional.
Q: Turning "Enable birthday notifications" off doesn't affect existing cards.
A: Only the daily reminders. Scheduled deliveries and manual sends keep working.
