The job wizard no longer asks about deposits. A deposit used to be step 7 of the wizard; it is now requested from the job after it is created, so the deposit is a real invoice you can send, track and collect like any other.

Request a deposit on a job

  • Create the job as usual.
  • Open the job and choose Request Deposit from its actions.
  • Enter a percentage of the job or a flat amount.
  • Copy the payment link, choose Email it, or choose Collect now to key in a card, charge a saved card, or record a check in Collect Payment.

    • When you create the job's invoice later, the paid deposit is credited to it automatically.

    Deposits on quotes

    Quotes still carry deposits: switch on Require Deposit on the quote wizard's review step. See Deposits on Quotes and Jobs and Deposits.
