What this page is
Jobs & Dispatch is where the office schedules jobs, sees what is going out and coming back on a given day, and hands work to drivers. In the sidebar it is the Dispatch item. Dispatchers land here when they sign in.
Drivers don't use this page. They work from the driver app (see the Driver App guide).
The views
Tabs across the top switch between seven views:
Calendar, Dispatch and Map all follow the same selected date. Change the day on one and the others follow.
On a computer you can also press 1 for Calendar, 2 for Dispatch, 3 for Map and 4 for Advanced Search. Press ? to see the keyboard shortcuts.
Scheduling a job
Click Schedule Job in the top right (the + button on a phone). It opens the new-job wizard. See Creating a Job.
The date row and Tools menu
On Calendar, Dispatch and Map (on a computer), a row under the tabs shows the selected date, how many jobs are scheduled, arrows and a calendar to change the day, and a Today button when you are on another day.
The ⓘ next to it shows Quick Tips: jobs become overdue the day after their scheduled date, and you can mark a job as a priority with the Priority switch.
The Tools menu holds:
The filter row
Under the date row: a search box (Job ID or Customer name), Tech/Drivers, Job Type and Status. They narrow the lists on Calendar and Dispatch for the selected day.
To find a job on another day, type its full job number (three letters, a dash and the digits) and press Enter. PortaPro jumps to the day that job is scheduled.
On a phone
The top of the page has the title, + and ⋮, then the views as a strip you swipe sideways. Swipe the date card left or right to change the day.
The ⋮ button opens Actions:
Phones always show the Calendar as one stacked list. Use Roster view (or Roster in Actions) for the week grid.
Needs attention
When something needs the office, a collapsed Needs attention row appears above the content on every view except Dispatch. It holds two lists:
It shows nothing when both lists are empty. See Missed Stops and Rescheduling.
Who can see it
Owners, admins and dispatchers. Drivers are sent to the driver app, and mechanics are limited to the shop screens.
