The drawing toolbar
When you first land on the Boundary tab in polygon or hybrid mode, the
toolbar shows:

segment will land.
very first vertex again, or press Enter. Minimum is 3 vertices.
in-progress shape is discarded and everything else on the map is left
alone.
You don't need to be precise. A rough outline that separates one crew's
area from the next is plenty; nobody's surveying property lines.
Multiple polygons per territory
A single territory can hold several disconnected shapes. Draw as many as
you need; that's the normal way to model a crew that covers two towns
with a gap in between. They're saved together as one boundary and treated
as a single territory for auto-assignment.
Editing an existing polygon
Once a polygon is finished:

Import GeoJSON
Click Import GeoJSON and pick a `.geojson` file. Accepted shapes:
Anything else is rejected with an error toast. Imported shapes replace
what's currently on the map, so if you want to combine an imported shape
with something you drew, export first and merge in your GIS tool.
Common sources for `.geojson`:
Export
Export downloads the current shape as `<territory-name>.geojson` so
you can:
The exported file is a standard GeoJSON FeatureCollection.
The "How boundaries work" explainer
The header of the Edit/Create Territory sheet has a How boundaries
work button that shows only on the Boundary tab. Click it any time you
need a refresher; it opens a sheet (or a bottom drawer on mobile)
walking through everything in this article in plain language, plus
keyboard shortcuts and where the map starts.
If the map doesn't load
If the map area appears blank with no zoom buttons and no attribution:
check your firewall / VPN / ad-blocker. The PortaPro map surface
uses the same tile server across every page, so if any map in the app
works, the settings map will work too.
Keyboard shortcuts while drawing
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Enter | Finish the current shape (needs 3+ vertices) |
| Esc | Cancel the current in-progress shape |
| Backspace | Undo the last dropped vertex |
| Delete | With a finished shape selected, remove just that shape |
