Quiet tracking is how you end up in a labor dispute. PortaPro puts a visible tracking-status card on every driver's profile whenever any form of tracking is active on their org.
Where Drivers See It
Driver app → Profile → the top card, above their personal info
What the Card Says
If phone tracking is on:
"Your phone's location is shared with dispatch while you're signed in to the driver app. Last recorded: 3 min ago."
If vehicle tracking is on:
"Vehicles in this fleet may carry GPS trackers. Dispatch sees vehicle positions for routing, ETAs, and asset protection."
The Legal Backstop
The one-time consent flow admins complete (see Enabling GPS Tracking) records who acknowledged that drivers have been notified. Combined with the always-visible driver card, this satisfies the notification-and-visibility requirements that several states impose on employer GPS tracking.
What Drivers Cannot Do
What Drivers Can Do
For Admins Rolling This Out
Add a one-time notification to your driver group when you first enable tracking. The card in the app satisfies the "ongoing visibility" requirement, but the initial notice, email, printed policy, whatever your HR practice is, is on you.
