GPS Tracking puts your fleet vehicles and high-value tracked units on the dispatch map in real time. PortaPro receives positions from hardware trackers, from your existing Samsara account, or from the driver app, and turns them into something dispatchers, drivers, and admins can act on. Hardware trackers are bought inside PortaPro (Settings → GPS Tracking) and arrive configured for your account with cellular service included, so there is nothing to wire up on your side.
What you can track
Design truths worth knowing
"Real time" and a multi-year battery are mutually exclusive. Battery tracking devices report about once a day plus whenever they move. The valuable signal for a portable toilet is events, left the yard, arrived on site, moved when it shouldn't have, not a continuously animated dot.
Partial coverage is normal. Nobody puts a tracker on every $600 portable toilet. Real adoption is trailers, ADA units, holding tanks, and theft-prone metros. The map is designed so 10% coverage looks correct, not broken.
Availability and pricing
GPS Tracking requires the Growth plan or above. The feature is part of the plan; the hardware is priced separately and bought inside PortaPro:
If you already run Samsara, connect it with a read-only token at no PortaPro charge. If you already own professional trackers from a fleet-GPS provider, they can often be re-pointed at PortaPro so you skip the hardware purchase and pay only the monthly service.
