Customers can keep their own contact details up to date in the portal: the
company email and phone, the mailing address, their contacts, and who gets
invoices by email. There is no approval step. A change saves right away, is
written into the customer's Activity with the name of the person who made
it, and the office is notified.

Where to find it
Invoices emailed to, with an Edit link (View when the portal is
read-only).
Both open the Company Details page.
Company
Shows the company name, Email, Phone, Mailing address and
Service address. Edit opens Edit company details:
service address. Untick it to type a different Mailing address
(street, Address line 2 (optional), City, State, ZIP code).
Save stores it right away ("Company details saved."). The company name and
the service address can't be changed here; the page says "To change your
company name, your service address or anything else, send us a message" (or
"contact us" when the company has no portal messages).
Who gets invoices by email
"Invoices and receipts are emailed to everyone switched on here." There is a
switch for the company email and one for each contact with an email address.
Contacts without an email are counted underneath ("1 contact has no email
address, so they can't get invoices by email.").
Email only ("Stop mailing paper invoices. We'll only email them.") tells
the company to stop mailing paper invoices. It can only be switched on while
someone above gets invoices by email; otherwise it reads "Switch someone on
above first, then you can stop paper invoices."
Changes here are saved together with Save Changes, the same way the
portal Settings page saves its switches.
Contacts
Lists every contact, primary contact first, with · Primary contact and
· You (the person signed in) next to the name. Add contact opens Add a contact (First name, Last
name, Email, Phone, Title (optional), and Send invoices to this
person); Edit on a row opens Edit contact.
says so.
changed here ("A portal invitation is waiting on this address, so it can't be
changed here. Ask us to change it.").
What the office sees
"Jane Smith · Changed the company email to bestweddings@gmail.com", or
"Updated the company details" with a line per change.
"Jane Smith updated Best Weddings LLC's details", on the Customer
Requests notification row. It says nothing needs approving.
Turning it off
Settings → Customer Experience → Customer Portal → Let Customers Update Their
Contact Details is on by default. When off, the Company Details page is
read-only and says "These details are kept up to date by our office. To change
anything, send us a message" ("contact us" when the company has no portal
messages).
Staff opening a customer's portal (staff view) see the page read-only,
with a note that details are changed by the customer.
