A gate code changes, a truck leaves the yard, a customer wants units moved before an auction. Most of what happens in a day gets said to somebody, and Team Chat is where your crew says it, on their work login instead of their personal phone. Team Chat is in the main menu, under Management and Admin, and it's included on every plan. Your conversations sit on the left. Channels are group conversations by topic. A pound sign means anyone in the company can join. A lock means invite only. Star the channels you live in, and they stay at the top. Here's the dispatch channel on a working morning. Drivers post from the road as they go. Out of the yard, which stop is first. A customer asks for something on site, the driver handles it, and the office answers in the same place, so everyone on the channel sees the decision. One thing to know. Chat doesn't change jobs, sites or routes. When a gate code changes, it goes in the site notes too, exactly like Luis did here. Every conversation has its own alert setting. All messages, mentions only, or muted. A busy channel can stay quiet until someone needs you. Search looks through message text across your channels for the last ninety days. Type gate, and every gate message comes back, with who said it and where. The plus button by the message box adds a photo or file, an emoji, a mention, or formatting. A driver can send a picture of a damaged unit straight from the site. Type the at sign to mention someone, and they get a notification by name. In a channel, at everyone reaches every member, and at here reaches only the people who are online right now. Direct messages are one on one. Pick a few people for a group message instead. Call rings the other person in any tab where they're signed in, and in the phone app. If nobody answers in thirty seconds, a missed call note lands in the conversation. Can't pick up? Reply with a message from the ringing screen instead. Each person keeps their own quick replies, under Settings, Team Chat. The same page has the ring sound, and Do Not Disturb, which declines calls for you and can send one of those replies automatically. In a channel, Meeting starts a video meeting right there. Tick the people to ring. Every name shows that person's role. The pills along the top narrow the list. Pick Mechanics, then Select all, and only the shop gets the call. Or start it without notifying anyone. Schedule for later sets one up ahead of time, with a link you can share, even with people outside the company. Scheduled meetings are on the Growth plan. Radio is push to talk. In the trucks, a driver holds the talk button, and everyone on that channel hears it live, office included. With recording on, every transmission is saved here with who spoke, on which channel, and for how long. Turn on transcripts, and you can read what was said instead of replaying it. Radio channels follow your chat channels, so the dispatch radio reaches the same people as the dispatch chat. All hands reaches everyone. And Email sends one message to the team members you pick, or a whole channel or role at once. Drivers and mechanics get the same chat in the PortaPro phone app, under Chat in the bottom bar. It fills the screen, every channel and message in one list, with push notifications when someone needs them.
