What it does
If you already use Claude or ChatGPT, you can connect it to your PortaPro account and ask questions about your business in plain English:
The assistant looks the answer up in your PortaPro account and explains it: where a credit came from, what paid it and what it has been applied to, for example. Money figures use the same balance rules as the PortaPro screens, so an answer in Claude matches what you see in the app.
It can also help you import your customer list (see below).
It can only read. It can't create, edit, send, void or delete anything. When something needs changing, it tells you where to do it in PortaPro.

Importing your customers with Claude or ChatGPT
Moving from another system? Give the assistant your customer list (a spreadsheet, a QuickBooks export, or notes pasted in) and ask it to turn it into a PortaPro import:
The assistant never imports anything itself. You always review and confirm the import in PortaPro.

Who can use it
Owners, admins and dispatchers, each with their own PortaPro login. Drivers, mechanics, shared truck logins and customers on the customer portal can't connect. It only ever sees the company your login belongs to.
It's on for every company. An owner or admin can turn it off, and back on, in Settings, Apps & Integrations, Claude & ChatGPT. The same card shows the connector address with a Copy button and who on your team has used it in the last 30 days.

Connect Claude
You don't need to change anything in PortaPro first: the connector is on for every company. These steps all happen in Claude or ChatGPT.
Claude asks before each lookup until you tell it otherwise. Because every PortaPro tool is read-only, you can set them to Always allow in the connector's settings.

Connect ChatGPT
The menus in Claude and ChatGPT change often. If a step doesn't match, look for "connectors" or "custom connector" in that app's settings.

Name the company in your question ("...for Cedar Park Septic"). Ask "which companies can you see?" to get the list.
