The Job Wizard creates one-off work: a delivery, a pickup, a service visit, a swap, an event setup. Anything bounded with a clear start, end, and known line items.
Open the wizard from the Jobs & Dispatch page or from a customer profile's Create Job button. Pick whether you're creating a Job or a Quote (the "Job + Quote" option has been retired — use Quote-to-Job conversion instead). Step through Customer, Job Details (type and scheduling), Location, Assignment, Products & Services, and Review.
For a finite rental — a one-day event, a 30-day construction job — set the dates and the wizard handles the full billing flow. The job's line items determine what gets billed and the rental duration drives the totals. Save as draft or complete the wizard to create the job.
For an indefinite rental (no scheduled pickup, ongoing service), toggle "Indefinite Rental" on. The wizard hides its old Recurring Billing Setup panel and shows a handoff card pointing to the customer's Rate Card. The job creates only the initial delivery; all ongoing service billing is handled by the Rate Card's Cycle Invoice path. Set up the Rate Card row for the site after the delivery is scheduled.
The confirmation step shows context-appropriate language. Finite rentals show the day count. Indefinite rentals show "Indefinite — ongoing service billed via Rate Card." Quotes show "Quote total" instead of "Estimated total." The Order Summary sidebar mirrors this throughout the wizard.
For recurring customer-set-up work, your time is better spent on the Rate Card than in the wizard. The wizard is for the exceptions — a one-day event for a recurring customer, a new delivery, a special swap. Use it when the work is bounded.
