Fleet Management → Vehicles → a vehicle → Location tab has a trip history below the map. Pick a date (the arrows step a day at a time) and see every trip that day: start and end time, distance, duration, idle time, and top speed. Tap a trip to draw it on the map above.
How a trip is defined
A trip starts when the truck begins moving and ends when it has been stopped for ten minutes, or when the tracker reports ignition off. Distance is summed between consecutive fixes. Idle time is engine on, not moving, for three minutes or more, the number every fleet product reports.
What feeds it
Trips are segmented from the vehicle tracker's positions. A plug-in tracker bought through PortaPro reports every couple of minutes while ignition is on and publishes ignition state, which is what makes the trip boundaries clean. Samsara-sourced vehicles work the same way from the positions PortaPro syncs.
Retention
Positions are kept for 90 days (see Data Retention and History), so trip history reaches back that far. If your org needs a longer archive for insurance or an incident investigation, request an export through support before the cleanup runs.
The weekly view
The same trip segmentation feeds Settings → GPS Tracking → Weekly report: trips, miles, driving time, idle time and days active per truck, with a CSV download. See Verified Rental Dates, Job Prompts, and Weekly Reports.
