GPS Tracking requires the Growth plan or above. The feature itself is part of the plan. Hardware and its tracking service are priced separately, and you buy them inside PortaPro from Settings → GPS Tracking.
Starter and Core plans do not include GPS Tracking. If you're on one of those and want the feature, upgrade the subscription. The settings page shows a clear "requires Growth" prompt when this is the case.

If you bring your own hardware, you also own its SIM. Reference 2026 US street pricing, for planning only (confirm with your reseller, since Digital Matter and Ruptela are partner-channel only):
See What does GPS tracking hardware actually cost to run? for 5-year figures.
Bundled turnkey alternatives (Azuga, GPS Insight, Verizon Connect Reveal) run $10–$44/vehicle/month, usually on a 3–5 year contract. That fee includes *their* tracking platform, which is redundant when you're tracking in PortaPro.
Samsara comparison (fleet vehicle path only): advertised entry is $27–$33/vehicle/mo, with realistic all-in cost closer to $40–$60 after routing / maintenance / AI dashcam add-ons; hardware runs $99–$148 for the base gateway or $350–$500 with the AI dashcam and install. Contract is a 3-year prepay, and Samsara does not publish pricing; every quote is sales-led. If you already have Samsara, connecting it to PortaPro is free.
PortaPro also meters GPS ingest usage per organization (positions, events, webhook calls) and shows it on the settings page, even though there is no usage charge. See Usage Metering and Cost Visibility.
