Three things change on the driver's phone once GPS tracking is on.
Tracked units on the route map
The driver's map draws every tracked inventory unit as a small colour-coded chip (green healthy, amber stale, red offline) showing the last four digits of its unit code. A driver sent to pick up #2013 sees where it actually is, not where the paperwork says. A Units toggle on the map hides the layer.
Pins flagged Needs relocation by the office render orange, including on the job sheet. The driver finds the unit and taps the pin → Move pin here, which clears the flag. See Unit Last-Known GPS Card for how drift is flagged.
"You've arrived at …"
On the Today hub, when the phone is within about 150 m of an open stop, a green banner names the customer and address and opens the job list when tapped. It uses the phone's own location and ignores fixes with poor accuracy, so it will not fire from a parking lot across the road. It does not replace the driver tapping *Arrived*; that still records the stop.
Odometer on the DVIR
The pre-trip inspection's odometer field prefills from the vehicle's tracker when no manual start mileage was entered for the day, so the driver confirms a number instead of typing one. The driver can still overwrite it. The same tracker odometer keeps the vehicle's current mileage fresh and drives maintenance-due alerts; see Events and Alerts.
What this does not change about tracking drivers
Drivers are not tracked by these features beyond what was already disclosed: the arrival banner uses the phone's location only while the app is open, and the unit layer shows where units are, not where other drivers are. The always-visible tracking-status card on the driver's profile is described in Driver Transparency and Disclosure.
